The future of charity: “I’m concerned about the rumors that charitable deductions will be capped in the future, and the impact on charitable organizations. We encouraged our clients to increase their funding to donor-advised funds in 2016 in case either tax rates are lower in the future or charitable deductions are capped. A black swan: “My biggest worry is a real disruption that we didn’t see coming. Not robo advisors, fiduciary, regulation, etc., but a real disruption — a growing blindness that we didn’t notice, or a sudden change. As a fee-only fiduciary, I put my clients’ interests first. As a financial planner, I love to plan, so planning for what’s on the radar is great fun.
